Hein, Redlands Daily Facts } Chuck Palmer, San Bernardino Sun ;ABSENT None i The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed invocation by Reverend Eugene R. Paulus of Christ the Ding Luthe Church. Mayor Cummings welcomed Redlands Boy Scout Troop 31 of the Churc ii Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hi i who accompanied them. Mayor Cummings then called Cecil Pattison to the podium, congrat him on twenty---six years of service with the City, and stated tha Retirement had served as Humane Officer for twenty-two years. Mayor Cummin Certificate presented a certificate signed by the Council members for loyal from 1948 to 1974. Mayor Cummings next called Albert Ruiz and his father to the pod Albert is in the fourth grade at Lugonia School, Lives at 228 Mu Mayor ' s Trophy Avenue, and caught the largest fish taken in Ford Park in accord with the rules. This was a four and three-quarter pound channel Mayor Cummings congratulated Albert and presented him with the M trophy. i i tabling the matter for two weeks for study by the Councilmen. COMMUNICATIONS Councilman Knudsen requested that Council go on record as suppos It €i resolution of opposition to Proposition 17 as requested by the C Opposition Escalon. Following brief discussion, on motion of Councilman Kr H Prop. 17 seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, the Council concurred in suppos r this resolution by the following roll call vote : AYES : Councilmembers DeMirjyn, Knudsen, Grace, Mayor CummingE NOES : Councilman Miller ABSENT: None Councilwoman Grace expressed concern about the proposed joint uw Norton by the Air Force and City of San Bernardino, and asked if proclamation adopted in 1971 should be reaffirmed. i Council discussed this matter briefly.
