west, of the freeway between Palm and Cypress Avenues. Can motion
Councilman :Knudsen, seconded by Councilman De-Mirjyn, this recomn
tion was approved by AYE votes of all. present..

That a time extension of ninety days be granted for C.U.P. No. d

Street extended.. Following discussion, and noting the one -yea

Council noted the discontinuation of the afterschool recreation pro-
-cation gram by the schools due to very poor attendance, mentioned were the
hams Gymnastics Club, Dog Obedience, Guitar, and headed.. Glass Classes, and
other self-supporting recreation programs which reach a broad segment
of the citizens .
".ATIONS AND PETITIONS
Permission was unanimously given to the Chamber of Commerce for closl.nc

Show a sidewalk art show on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30 between
7:001 A.M. and. 7 :00 P.M. , on motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by
Councilman DeMirjyn, with the understanding that the street will be
open to emergency vehicles.
Mayor Cummings reported a very great number of complaints concerning
aival the recent carnival sponsored by the Jaycees. Mr. Merritt stated the
_mance police had also received many complaints . Following discussion , the
staff was requested to prepare an ordinance designed to screen appli-
cants and prevent a similar occurrence in the :Future.

Mayor Cummings announced the dinner meeting of the Citrus Belt Divi-
sion
v ision of the League of California Cities at; Griswol.d' s on November. 27,
with Colton as host. Mayor Cummings urged a good attendance by staff
and Council, as this is an opportunity to talk with and learn from
other cities ' experiences .
At this time a large group of Boy Scouts, Troop 44 from the 'F'emple
Baptist Church, was welcomed to the meeting.

needs for transportation in the county generally, on motion of C
