ETITIONS FROM THE FLOOR
Mrs . Mary Voeller addressed the Council in behalf of the senior citizens

of Redlands . She stated that they have no place to work, to meet, and j

to be of service to the community, and requested that Council proceed
7-en with the establishment of a senior citizen center. Mrs . Voeller des
Dr cribed a conversation with Mr. Harlan Burns of HUD in Washington, and
stated that a letter outlining this discussion would be forthcoming.
Council discussed the need for such a facility with Mrs . Voeller, con-- tt
curred that it would be desirable to be in a position to accept the f
Joslyn grant, explained the problems outlined in the letter from Mrs
Siracusa of the Environmental Improvement Agency, and received co encs

from other members present in the audience.

Mr. Frank Maloney reported on his meeting of November 4 with Mr. WeldonE
J. Fulton, architect. He stated that the City of Redlands had received]'
a two-week extension, to November 20, for the consideration of the {
Yn Joslyn grant. Mr. Maloney added that the city is being considered undek

Council stressed the need to be in conformity with all Federal require-11

ments in developing this project. Mr. Knudsen expressed concern at thejl

for his continuing efforts and for his trip into Eos Angeles today. l

No. 3215 1 . Install stop signs on Palm Avenue at intersection with Redlc
Traffic Street.
2 . Install stop signs on Western Avenue at intersection with 6t

SECTION TWO: Pursuant to Article 678, Section 67805 (a) of the
Redlands Traffic Ordinance:
1 > Paint white curb for passenger loading and unloading on the
side of Pennsylvania Avenue from the main driveway of Lugoni
School to a point 130 " west.
On motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Knudser

cil unanimously adopted Resolution No. 3215, which embodies then

recommendations of the Traffic Commission.
COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Cummings announced a SANBAG meeting tomorrow morning, and
described the transit problems which exist at this time with Sar.
Bernardino County and City operating different systems. Mayor C
expressed the hope that these problems would be resolved in ordE
all residents of San Bernardino County may receive service equal
that in Redlands.

Ordinance No. 1566, an ordinance of the City of Redlands amendin

Ordinance No. 1567, an ordinance of the City of Redlands amending
1567 Chapter 63 , Bicycles, of the City of Redlands Ordinance Code to bring 3

nsing reading of the title and laid over under the rules with second readingil
set for November 18, 1975 .
Mrs . Mary Ann Mayo, of 582 Sunnyside Avenue, addressed Council with a I

request that bus service be furnished to the Redlands Bowl summer
Service programs . Mrs . Mayo explained that bus service would make the Bowl_
.edlands programs available to people, particularly in north Redlands, who do
not have transportation and would enjoy attending programs. Council
discussed the matter at length, expressed appreciation of the worthi
ness of the cause, and felt concern for the City' s lack of funds . Mrs ;;
Joyce Nehlsen of 1609 Marjorie Crest also spoke. Following discussion;
Council concurred that the matter would be considered in the budget
session.
On motion of Councilwoman Grace, seconded by Councilman Miller, Reso-
lution No. 3217, a resolution of the City of Redlands in support. of
