prepared statement, he described the process of negotiations ent.erec
with the employee organizations of firemen and of general employees,
the conclusions of the executive session of October 1.0, 1.978.
As a result of the meetings and conferences, this City Council has c
to grant to the members of the International Association Fire FightE
1334 the following;
1. City ' s contribution to medical .insurance coverage .:.increased fx
$15 . 00 to $40.00 per month.
2. Uniform allowance increased to $150.00 per year . City will pi
initial issue of all safety equipment in accordance with sped
tions of OSHA.
3 , Scheduled duty shifts may be exchanged among safety employees
Fire Department with concurrence of the Eire Chief.
4 , All, safety employees shall maintain residence within fifteen n
the corporate limits of the city; exceptions may be granted b�
Council.
Bearing in mind the best interests of the citizens of Redlands, thiE
Council has determined to grant the following to the members of the
City Employees Association:
1. Paid supplemental life insurance in accordance with present A
Insurance Plan - from. $2. 34 to $6. 24 - for all those employeeE
eligible for the $40.00 dependent supplement...
2. Uniform allowance of $75. 00 per year for employees of Auto Shc
Garage, .Disposal field employees , and Humane Officers ,
. City will amend PERS contract to provide service credit for ac
sick leave at retirement.
Mayor Martinez then adjourned the meeting.
