�Gr The regular meeting of May 18, 1982, was adjourned to this time and place ':
for the purpose of giving second reading to Ordinance No. 1788, an ordil
ance of the City of Redlands implementing the initiative ordinance known
r f ,
as Proposition °R." :
Councilman DeMirjyn stated he was adamant about his recommendation �ytt
�ir� regarding drainage; that he felt the philosophy of "R" was to preserve
jj.
jl open space and quality development; that he felt strongly that one acre r�
lots would not make an appreciable difference in drainage; and moved to
�� j not penalize one acre lots in the Mill Creek zanja drainage basin listed
in No. 4, Storm and Flood Drainage. Councilman Johnson seconded the
Ordlnane motion for purposes of discussion. Councilman Gorman reiterated his

comments of the last meeting stating this had substantial merit but �
warranted more study by others. Councilman Roth also felt it had merit 1 i'

iProposition� but had not been studied enough. Councilman Johnson stated he saw no �

point in going any further with drainage discussion tonight. Motion
then failed by the following vote; AYES; Councilmembers DeMirjyn and
Johnson; NOES: Councilmembers Roth and Gorman..
Ordinance No. 1788, an ordinance of the City of Redlands implementing
the initiative ordinance to moderate growth within the City of Redlands
to preserve the City's unique enviornment and character and repealing the
Ordinances Nos. 1690, 1717, 1742, was given second reading of the title, '
with waiver of the reading of the ordinance in full, and failed by the
following roll call vote on motion of Councilman Gorman, seconded by
Councilman Roth:
j AYES- Councilmembers Roth and Gorman
NOES: Councilmembers DeMirjyn and Johnson
ABSENT: Councilmember Martinez

ordinance, Council adjourned, on motion of Councilman Gorman, seconded
