negotiations with Attorney Floyd of Best, Best & Krieger. The

Mayor Beswick bid farewell to Jim Nickles and wished him the best
h itis in his new assignment as Bureau Chief for the Colton/Rialto Bureau
�t'��1 ', of The Sun newspaper. City Manager Holmes introduced his houseguest,
Ifj'7td'a ' `' Peter Ford, who is visiting from England and participating in a
\p't�r nen Rotary Exchange Program.

The purpose of this meeting was to hold the first of several

�lirf+f i`r, scheduled 1984-85 budget study sessions. Finance Director
Archbold explained the new format of the budget and presented the
�tfrt+orf";, Budget revenue forecast for the next fiscal year. He also presented
1titfi�. Study budgets for the City Council, City Manager, Finance Department,
Session
�((r'iand City Attorney. Councilman Johnson strongly suggested Council
�tr�yr consider increasing their monthly expense accounts $75.00 each,
effective July 1, 1984. The $2,000.00 membership fee for the
National League of Cities was discussed at length.
Budgets were presented by City Treasurer Reynolds, Smiley Library
Director Irshay, and City Clerk Poyzer.
