The regular meeting of the City Council.on May 21, 1985, was adjourned to this time Vs.
and place in order In hold this meeting for the purpose of permitting Rodlands High
` School students to take over the functions of various elected officials and departments
of the City government as participation in the Annual Civics Day. Although a quorum t
was not present, the students proceeded with a meeting and no official action was taken.
The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance followed by an invocation by Acting
AR
Councilman Dean Miller.
Following an election for Acting Mayor and Vice Mayor, the following students were
seated at the Council table:

Franchise Actino City 'treasurer Anna Marie Troesch presented information on the following
Payment& franchcse payments recently received by the City:
Southern California Gas Company $258,844.20
Southern Galifoinia Edison Company 92,474.66
s Redlands Cablevision 52,857.37
Inactive' Acting Treasurer Troesch distributed a report of inactive investments dated April 30,
Reports 1985, and announced monthly reports will be distributed to the Council as now required
by law.

Acting City Manager Diane; Hartwick questioned Acting Postmaster Jesper Lindholt about
the delivery of mail from Denmark. Mr. Lindhold is a Rotary exchange student from
r. Denmark living with City Manager John E. Holmes.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:20 P.M. to an adjourned regular meeting to be held on �
Tuesday, May 28, 1985, at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers for the purpose of l
continuing the proposed budget study session.
Next regular meeting, June 4, 1985.
