Governor's Plan and 48 Senate Bills. He asked for help in reviewing this legislation
and solicited suggestions as to what the Redlands Unified School District desired. He
also urged support of Proposition 46 which will be on the November, 1988, ballot. He
advised that the Schools must know exactly what they wanted, sponsor their desires
in any way they could, and noted that the "squeaky wheel" syndrome worked.
Mayor Beswick urged the School District to conduct a local analysis of pending legislation
and asked the Schools for direction as to how the City Council could help. Mayor Beswick
thanked Assemblyman Leonard for coming to this meeting. Mr. Leonard responded
with his thanks stating we needed to pool our resources and link together as he also
shared the frustration.
The City Council meeting recessed at 4:40 P.M. to a closed session for the purpose
of discussing personnel matters. No report was expected following the closed session
at which time the City Council adjourned to an adjourned regular meeting to be held

Avenue, in order to hold the Civics Day mock City Council meeting.
