Market Night Town Center President Larry Statler, assisted by Town Center Manager Marjie Pettus,' presented the "Market Night” concept which the Town Center Board of Directors is IN,
proposing to be held on'Thursday nights. Councilmember DeMirjyn moved that. the I`� t
Redlands Town Center Corporation be granted permission to hold a "Market Night"
j on Thursday evenings an East State Street, for an initial trial period of one car; and ?

z{y' authorized the closure to vehicular traffic on East State Street. on Thursday evenings 4„
y between the hours of 5:30 P.M. and 9:30 P.M. beginning July 21, 1988.. Motion seconded

��zt drafted a Citizen Viewpoint Survey to be used in the preliminary study to update the «x+�

General Plan. Their latest draft prepared in the afternoon of June 13, 1988, was
MAN reviewed thoroughly by Council at: this meeting with several suggestions to beRi

j incorporated therein. Another draft will he prepared and circulated to each Councilmember

for further review and comments. :,
j Committee Following discussion, Council concurred to include a representative from the .following
r7 categories on the General.Flan Update Steering Committee. senior, other higher zW

educational institution, University of Redlands, professional, agriculture, schools,
business, youth, service organization, cultural, historic, building trades, Redlands 2000 .1

J and eight Akizens-at-large, two each from the northeast, northwest, southeast and t
southwest sections of town. Counrilmembers expressed their desire to have a member r
from each City Commission attend the meetings as a liaison from their respective

commission and Gouncilmemtrers to attend also as liaisons to listen and serve as

resources.
t+;v: Budget Review The following proposed budgets for 1988-89 were reviewed: Redevelopment, Building
t- Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, Cemetery, Parks, Recreation, Joslyn Senior Rg
Center, and Sanitation. Councilmember Johnson left the meeeting at 3:40 A.M. to
attend another meeting. Councilmember DeMirjyn left the meeting at 3:59 P.M.
