Redlands held at Griswold's Restaurant, Ford Street and Interstate
10, on September 18, 1991, at 7:30 A.M.
PRESENT Charles G. DeMirjyn, Mayor
Carole Beswick, Mayor Pro Tem
William E. Cunningham, Councilmember
Dee Ann Milson, Councilmember
James D. Wheaton, City Manager
Ronald C. Mutter, Assistant City Manager
Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk
ABSENT Swen Larson, Councilmember
School District Members of the City Council met with members of the Board of
Education and staff of the Redlands Unified School District to
discuss items of mutual concern and interest including the School
District's request that the City Council consider an institutional
rate for water, sewer and disposal charges. The School District is
conferring with the City Utilities Division and the Bear Valley
Mutual Water Company to utilize non-potable water for playing
fields' irrigation. Their recycling programs were described and
Mayor Pro Tem Beswick suggested contacting the University of
Redlands and Redlands Community Hospital. Councilmembers
concurred that the City and School District staffs would continue
dialogue on these matters of mutual concern.
Mayor Pro Tem Beswick suggested School District personnel
contact the Redlands Police Department for information regarding
the new San Bernardino County-wide Gang and Drug Task Force's
computer.
School Board Member Hank Mercado announced the schedule for
the Redlands High School Centennial Celebration to be held in
November which included the Homecoming parade, game and
dances and the Centennial picnic.
Members of both bodies agreed to meet on a quarterly basis to
continue dialogue on matters of mutual concern for the benefit of
the Redlands taxpayers.
The City Council meeting adjourned at 8:30 A.M. to an adjourned
regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, September 24, 1991, at
8:30 A.M. in City Hall, 30 Cajon Street, Redlands, California.
