Luebbers, City Manager Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk Michael Reynolds, City Treasurer Marjie Pettus, Administrative Services Director Eric Norris, Principal Planner Steven M. Chapman, Finance Director Mel Enslow,Fire Chief Larry E. Burgess, A. K. Smiley Public Library Director Gary G. Phelps, Municipal Utilities Director Lewis W. Nelson, Police Chief Ronald C. Mutter,Public Works Director Alisa Slaughter, San Bernardino County Sun ABSENT None Utility Users' Tax - Mayor Larson opened the meeting and members of the Utility Users' Tax Advisory Committee introduced themselves as follows: Finance: Paul Duralia, Bob Hodges, Jim Holmes, and Larry James (Ed McCormick was not present) Fire Department: Ray Alexander, Char Burgess, Leonard Goymerac, Tim Murone, and Bill Turnpaugh Police Department: Bill Emmerson, Gary Eppler, Robert E. Ford, and Judy Miller (Jack Bray was not present) Public Works Mick Gallagher, Carole King, Rufus "Tex" Moore, and Harry Smith (Pat Meyer was not present) Recreation: Marvin Duncan, Ediberto Flores, Don Gifford, Monica Hernandez, and Rolland Moore Adjourned regular meeting October 29, 1996 Page 1 The purpose of this meeting was to provide an orientation and briefing for members of the Utility Users' Tax Advisory Committee. A chronology of significant events relating to the Utility User's Tax was presented by City Manager Luebbers. Finance Director Chapman presented information showing the amounts of "take-away" of City of Redlands' revenue by the State of California since fiscal year 1990-91; specified functional expenditures of the proposed two percent Utility Users' Tax; a summary of revenue and expenditures of the current Utility Users' Tax as of September 30, 1996; and a five year budget summary (1995-1.996 through 1.999-2000) for the General Fund. Department heads explained how the receipts have been expended since the inception of the current Utility Users' Tax. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the City Council meeting adjourned at 8:36 P.M. The next regular meeting will be held on November 5, 1996.
