MINUTES of an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redlands
held in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 35 Cajon Street, on. Wednesday,
September 10, 2008, at 9:00 A.M.
PRESENT Jon Harrison, Mayor

ABSENT None
STAFF N. Enrique Martinez, City Manager; Daniel J. McHugh, City Attorney; Lorrie
Poyzer, City Clerk; :David Hexem, Chief Information Officer; Rosemary
Hoerning, Municipal Utilities and Engineering Director; Tina Kundig, Finance
Director; Mitch McKee, Interim Fire Chief, Bob Dalquest, Assistant
Community Development Director; Deborah Scott-Leistra, Human Resources
Director; Gary van:Dorst, Quality of Life Director
Mayor Harrison called the meeting to order and immediately recessed it to a
closed session to discuss the following:
1. Conference with labor negotiators - Government Code §54957.6
a. Unrepresented employee- City Manager(Mayor Harrison)
The meeting reconvened at 9:38 A.M. City Manager Martinez was not present.
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
There was no reportable action taken during the closed session.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Resolution No. 6759 - City Treasurer - Councilmember Gilbreath moved to
adopt Resolution No. 6759, a resolution of the City Council of the City of
Redlands appointing Tina T. Kundig to the elective office of City Treasurer and
delegating investment authority to the City Treasurer. Motion seconded by
Councilmember Gallagher. Discussion followed regarding the reorganization
of the Finance Department, and Councilmembers concurred to address this
matter at the second meeting in October, 2008. City Manager Martinez
returned to the meeting at 9:50 A.M. The motion to approve Resolution
No. 6759 carried unanimously.
Office of the City Treasurer - Councilmembers concurred to place a measure on
the November 2010 ballot for the voters to decide if the position should remain
elective or become an appointive position.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Metrolink - Mayor Pro Tem Gilbreath announced Metrolink has added a
temporary stop at the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the City Council meeting adjourned at
9:58 A.M. The next regular meeting will be held on September 16, 2008.
