Hartzell, Councilman This special meeting of the Council was called for the purpose of con- sidering the action of the San Bernardino Redevelopment Agency as re- ported in the San Bernardino Sun edition of August 24, 1967 and its im- plications on the City of Redlands, and to take whatever action may be desired by the City Council to protect the interests of the City of Redlands . Mayor Burroughs briefly reviewed the negotiations of the past two years between San Bernardino and the City of Redlands relative to the estab- lishing of an airport on a portion of the Marigold Farm acreage, from thp first suggested Joint Powers Agreement to the last proposed de-annexa- )Iution tion of 350 acres from the City of Redlands. 2619 City Manager Merritt displayed a large map of the area under considera- axation tion and pointed out that under the presently reported airport plans, it 30 would appear that the Edison power plant would become an island of count ( property between San Bernardino and Redlands . He reminded the Council of the close association between this plant and the City, including the fact that it is now a part of the Redlands School District and recom- mended that Council initiate negotiations to annex this property to the City of Redlands . Following discussion, on motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Hartzell No further business being scheduled for consideration at this mei on motion, the Council adjourned at 9: 35 A.M. Martinez, Councilman The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed b� invocation by Reverend Peter H. Thorburn of Trinity Episcopal ChV The minutes of the regular meeting of August 15 and the special n ing of August 25, 1967 were approved with the correction on page line 8 of the minutes of August 15 to read "Real Property TransfE BIDS On August 15, 1967 bids were opened in the office of the City ClE a rotary drilled well from the following companies: Midway Drilling and Pump Company Saticoy, California $14,150 .00 Rotary Roscoe Moss Company Los Angeles, California $17;199 .70 Drilled At this time it is the recommendation of the Department of Public Well that the bid be awarded to the Midway Drilling and Pump Company, lower bid meeting all requirements .
