Moseley, City Clerk Malcolm Schwartz, Redlands Daily Facts Chuck Palmer, San Bernardino Sun This special meeting was called for the purpose of receiving bids for the construction of University Street from Brockton Avenue to 550 feet north of Brockton Avenue, which were opened and publicly declared in the office of the City Clerk at 10: 00 A.M. July 30, 1968, and awarding the contract. Bids were received as follows: C. L. Brooks Construction Co. San Bernardino, California $17 , 078.37 Cockrum & Snow Bloomington, California $13,588.13 Frank Furman, Inc. San Bernardino, California $15,490.10 Triangle Construction Co. San Bernardino, California $13, 910.15 Whitlow Construction Co. Riverside, California $14, 775. 16 E. L. Yeager Constr. Co. Riverside, California $15,600.42 At this time it is the recommendation of the department of Public Works that the bid of Cockrum and Snow, being the lowest bid and meeting all specifications, be accepted. On motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman Cummings, award was made to the firm of Cockrum and Snow in the amount of $13, 588.13. Director of Public Works Shone thanked the Council for convening this special meeting to award this bid and stated that this would speed the work on this street which will serve the parking area for the new Vic ayor of the it Redlands Ci lerk r o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-a
