This special meeting of the City Council was called for the purp
of considering a consulting contract for a personnel classificat
survey.
On July 5, 1972, Council authorized a position classification su
to update the job classification specifications of the city and

cation City Manager Merritt explained that as a result of this authoriz
Survey his office had immediately canvassed the field to see who is in
business today, and found eleven firms . Letters were sent to al
eleven, and responses were received from five, urban Associates,
Jacobs Company, Griffenhagen-Kroeger, Inc. , William Hamilton and
Associates, and Public Management Services, with survey quotatio
morning with representatives of the three employee organizations,
Police, Fire and Miscellaneous Employees, to acquaint them with the
proposals received.
After brief discussion of the proposals and comments from Sergeant
Brinkman, President of the Redlands Police Officers Association,
indicating their preference for The Jacobs Company, Councilman Miller
moved to authorize an agreement with Public Management Services to
conduct this survey. motion seconded by Mayor Cummings and adopted
by AYE votes of all present .
There being no further business scheduled to be considered at this
special meeting, Council adjourned at 3 :00 P.M.
