DeMirjyn, Councilman Chresten M. Knudsen, Councilman i This special meeting of the City Council was called for the purpose of considering the ,following: (A) Consideration of Community Dark. Development Plans (B) Reconsider NA AG Agreement The plan presented this morning was developed by Mr* Jack Dangermond ii with input from many interested citizens . This plan was discussed at length. The recommendation from the City Manager that the entire 20 acres be maintained by the Park. Department was also considered. Mayor Cummings stated that although the City did not have the funds for this park set aside at the present time, he believed private nity financing might be forthcoming and pointed to the financing of Pros- pect Park, Smiley Library, Redlands Bowl. and. Smiley Dark . Following further discussion., Councilman Miller moved that approval. be given for the plan as presented., excluding the pool area; that landscaping for the ball field be started immediately, with picnic tables and play areas , and that the entire 20 acres be under tie .Park Department for development and maintenance. Motion was seconded. by Councilman Newall and adopted by AYE votes of all present. Council discussed the advantages of mini parks adjacent to schools and the resultant savings by use of tax monies for a twofold purpose school and recreation. Those in the audience were thanked for attending this early meeting. Mr. Jack Dangermond was thanked for his contribution and authorized lj to proceed with his subcontractors to develop designs for the park on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman.
