Knudsen, Councilman The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed 1 invocation by Mayor Jack B. Craig Moreland, Mayor Scott Schofield, Vice Mayor Jim Roberts, Councilman Bev Bruins, Council-lady Dennis McNally, Councilman a Denise Melia, City Manager Don Moore, City Attorney Julie Hart, City Clerk Mayor Cummings expressed Councilman Knudsen ' s regret that he is to attend due to the sudden illness of his father which has cal from the city. COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS - TRAFFIC At the meeting of March 15, 1073, the Traffic Commission made ti lowing recommendations for consideration of the City Council . SECTION ONE. Pursuant to Article 677, Section 67709 (a) of the Redlands Traffic Ordinance; 1, Establish No Parking zone on the north side of Park Avenue I Tennessee Street to a point 300 feet west of Tennessee Stre( SECTION O, Pursuant to Article 675, Section 67301 (b) of the Redlands Traffic Ordinance: Resolution 1. Remove loading zone on Redlands Boulevard in, front of Erik ' : No. 3035 Lure Store. Establish 30 mile per hour speed limit on University Street between Colton Avenue and Brockton Avenue. 2 . Establish 35 mile per hour speed limit on Garden Street. between i Hilton Avenue and Eucalyptus Drive. I i SECTION FIVE: Pursuant to Article 680, section 68003 (a) of the j Redlands Traffic Ordinance: 1. Establish 45 mile per hour speed limit on Citrus Avenue. between. Dearborn Street and Wabash Avenue. Following discussion of these changes, on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Miller, Resolution No. 3038, a reso- lution of the City Council implementing the above changes, was adopted by AYE votes of all present. Is Council received reports from the Acting Director of Building and ;i Safety, Kevin Gray, on current trends; from the Acting Director of Parks, Barry Wallace, on the renovation of the Prosellis of the Redlands Bowl; and from the Acting Recreation Director, Sally McCall, on the renovation of Floral and sylvan Plunges . SHED BUSINESS =i 7 Ordinance No. 1511, an ordinance of the City Council approving an amendment to the contract between the Board of Administration of the Public Employees ' Retirement System and the City to initiate a 5% in- crease in retirement, payments to City employees, was adopted, on l motion. of Councilman Miller seconded by Councilman Sewall, with waiver i of reading of the ordinance in full, by the following roll call vote AYES . City Clerk to sign four granttj s deeds in behalf of the City. These deeds return property vacated by 3 City Resolutions Nos . 3033, 3034, 3035, and 3036 to the owners of the gad- j jacent property. This former street right--of-way is no longer weeded for public use due to the realignment of Fifth and. Highland Avenues Mayor Cummings briefly explained the City Manager form of government to the students and described the city activities requiring coordina- , tion during a recent busy and tragic evening whish included a severe �7 freeway accident, a death in a house fire, and a robbery which took m-.1 -,-- .-.4 r.,,,1 4------1 .
