Hein, Redlands Daily Facts Chuck Palmer, San Bernardino Sun None The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed by the invocation by Acting City Manager Kim Kanatani. This special meeting of the City Council was called for the purpose of permitting Redlands High School students to take over the functions of the various departments of city government in connection with Civic Week. Seated at the Council table to represent the legislative and administrative offices of the city were: Pat Faulstich, Mayor Rina Diaz, Vice Mayor Bruce Gibson, Councilman Genny Hendon, Councilwoman Jesse Martinez, Councilman Kim Kanatani, City Manager Craig Rieger , City Attorney Linette Germain, City Clerk TO COUNCIL City Clerk Moseley briefly described the actual process of voting, explaining the responsibilities of the precinct boards, method of ballot marking, rights of voters relating to issuance of second ballot when necessary, and rights of a voter to challenge any questionable act of other voters or precinct workers. Council received a report from Teri Jacinto, Acting Director of Parks, stating that application for $150, 000 for development of Prospect Park had been made in connection with the 1974 State Bond Act. All citizens were urged to vote for the bond at the primary election. HED BUSINESS Following a brief explanation of the PERS contract by Acting Director ance of Finance Jacquetta Brock, on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by 1531 Councilman DeMirjyn, Ordinance No. 1531, Amendment to the PERS contract, was given second reading of the title and adopted, with waiver of the act reading of the ordinance in full, by the following roll call vote : AYES : Councilmembers DeMlrjyn, Grace, Knudsen, Miller, Mayor Cummings NOES : None ABSENT: None INESS 4 -4---A--4- N T ,-A- 1--4 -4= 1,4 -4---,' --1 -I--4--'1, -4= Hamburger On motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Miller, Fry mission was unanimously granted the Redlands Shrine Club to acce donations within Sylvan Park for their hamburger fry on July 13 , There being no further business scheduled for this meeting, the adjourned, on motion, at 2 :00 P.M.
