Planned Residential Developments - Community Development Director Shaw reminded
Council they had directed staff to initiate an ordinance amendment to resolve processing
conflicts and inconsistencies within the portion of the Municipal Code on Planned
Residential Developments. In examining the Code provisions, staff also found it
appropriate to consider amending other portions of the ordinance to include the density
and open space provisions. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the
processing amendments to the City Council on September 18, 1990. The Commission
was concerned with the details of those portions of the ordinance relating to density and
open space and during two study sessions and two public hearings, the Commission
recommended several clarifications and technical changes and gave staff the general
direction to broaden and provide flexibility in the ordinance. The ordinance amendment
was modified to respond to the Commission's comments and was recommended for
approval through the adoption of Redlands Planning Commission Resolution No. 761 and
Ordinance No. 2136 has been scheduled for a City Council public hearing on November
20, 1990. Mr. Shaw then reviewed proposed Ordinance No. 2136.
The meeting recessed at 9:25 A.M. to a closed session for the purpose of discussing
personnel matters. No report was expected following the closed session.
