MINUTES of a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Redlands held in the
Joslyn Senior Center, 21 Grant Street, Redlands, California, on March 30, 1999,
at 7:02 P.M.
PRESENT William E. Cunningham, Mayor
Geni A. S. Banda, Mayor Pro Tem
Pat Gilbreath, Councilmember
Gary George, Councilmember
John L. Freedman, Councilmember
Gary M. Luebbers, City Manager
Beatrice Sanchez, Deputy City Clerk
ABSENT None
The purpose of this special meeting was to receive input from citizens regarding
the 1999 City Council goals. Concerns raised by the four citizens who
addressed Council were: set in place the recommendations and documents cited
in the 1987 Redlands 2000 Report as well as the 1995 Redlands 2000 Report
Update (amended on April 20, 1999, to reflect Mr. Steve Stockton addressed the
City Council regarding this matter); streamline dispensing funds requested and
approved by the Joslyn Sr. Center Advisory Board from the Mary Evelyn Scott
Trust Account; full-time assistants for the outstanding, hard-working, Joslyn
Senior Center Manager, Gail Thompson, and Senior Nutrition Center, Marie
Provencio; reduction in rental rates for classrooms at Joslyn Senior Center;
better restaurants in Redlands; and a bus system that serves the public better.
There being no further comments, the special the meeting was adjourned at
7:24:P.M. Next regular meeting will be held on.April 6, 1999.
