Renaissance Banquet Hall, 19 East Citrus Avenue, Redlands, California, at
12:00 Noon on July 19, 2005.

Gary George, Councilmember
Jon.Harrison, Councilmember
ABSENT None
The Redlands Chamber of Commerce hosted the sixth annual. State of the
Community luncheon. Chamber of Commerce Past President Wayne Stair
welcomed those present, delivered an invocation, and led the audience with the
pledge of allegiance. He then introduced Mayor Peppler who called the City
Council meeting to order at 12:08 P.M. and asked if there were any public
comments regarding subjects scheduled on this agenda. None were
forthcoming.
Mayor Peppler, Mayor Pro Tem Gil, Councilmember George, Councilmember
Gilbreath, and Councilmember Harrison each spoke for approximately ten
minutes each. Their presentations were followed with a brief question and
answer forum. Questions included their stand on the initiative petition
submitted by The Redlands Association which is scheduled for the November 8,
2005, ballot and relates to the General Plan amendments; each Councilmember
indicated they did not support the initiative. A member of the audience stated
the City needed to have a utility tax as he felt it would be a fair and equitable
way to fund needed City services. Dr. Appleton, University of Redlands'
President, asked about the status of a downtown hotel.

None forthcoming.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Peppler declared the meeting adjourned
at 1:15 P.M.
