HomeMy WebLinkAbout062707-special_CCv0001.pdf MINUTES of a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Redlands held in the Casa Loma Room, University of Redlands, 1200 East Colton Avenue, Redlands, California, at 12:06 Noon on Wednesday, June 27, 2007. PRESENT Jon Harrison, Mayor Gilberto Gil, Councilmember Mick Gallagher, Councilmember Pete Aguilar, Councilmember ABSENT Pat Gilbreath, Mayor Pro Tem The Redlands Chamber of Commerce hosted the eighth annual State of the Community luncheon. Chamber of Commerce President Paul Barich welcomed those present. Chamber of Commerce President-elect Paul Foster led the audience with the pledge of allegiance and delivered an invocation. Mr. Barich introduced Mayor Harrison who called the special City Council meeting to order and asked if there were any public comments regarding subjects scheduled on this agenda. None were forthcoming. Mayor Harrison and Councilmembers Gil, Gallagher and Aguilar spoke for approximately ten minutes each. Their presentations were followed with questions prepared in advance by the Redlands Chamber of Commerce covering the proposed Super Wal-Mart, the Redlands Mall rehabilitation project, additional revenue sources being considered, factors contributing to the level of service provided by the City, architectural standards and a development fee relative to art in public places, and downtown parking. Councilmembers shared their individual vision for Redlands over the next five years followed with a brief question and answer forum with the audience. PUBLIC COMMENTS At this time, Mayor Harrison provided the public an opportunity to address the City Council on any subject which was not scheduled on this agenda. None were forthcoming.
