MINUTES of a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Redlands held in the
Council Chambers, Civic Center, 35 Cajon Street, on March 4, 2008, at
1:00 P.M.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Mayor Harrison called the special meetings of the City Council and the
Planning Commission to order and provided an opportunity for the public to
address them on the subjects which were scheduled on this special meeting
agenda. There were no comments forthcoming.
WORKSHOP
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) - Mayor Harrison
introduced Rick Fochtman, Program/Education Chairman of the United States
Green :Building Construction, Inland Empire. Mr. Fochtman presented
information on the impact that buildings have on our health and environment,
what is behind the "Green Building" phenomenon and the United States Green
Building Council and the LEED Ranking System, which is fast becoming a
national and global standard for verifying "Green Construction."
Councilmembers and Planning Commissioners asked questions. Bob Roberts
invited everyone to also learn more about the BIA Green Valley Initiative.

There being no further business, the City Council and Planning Commission
meetings adjourned at 2:11 P.M. The next regular meeting will be held on
