To address Brown Act considerations, Mayor Aguilar called this special meeting
to provide the opportunity for all Councilmembers to attend a luncheon hosted by
the City of Redlands Chamber of Commerce. He offered an opportunity for the
public to address the City Council on the subject of the meeting agenda.

None forthcoming
PRESENTATION:
State of the Community — The meeting was prefaced with all those in attendance
singing "Happy Birthday" to the Mayor, this date being the 34th anniversary of his
birth. Mayor Aguilar then introduced all city staff and elected officials present
and invited Mayor Pro Tem Foster to provide a summary of events accomplished
to date and planned for the remainder of the City of Redlands' 125th Anniversary
celebration. Mayor Pro Tem Foster highlighted the Christmas Parade, the
community work day to establish Heritage Park, the Redlands Community
Hospital celebration of births, the Redlands Arts Festival, the on-going effort to
produce a video documenting all the events of the celebration and video
interviews of significant residents, the planned "Extravaganza", Veterans' Day
Parade and an original musical production to be written and performed for the
celebration. Mayor Aguilar then presented his State of the Community address.
The Mayor focused his remarks on four areas of priority important to the City
Council: keeping the city's financial house in order, helping existing businesses
and encouraging new ones, keeping neighborhoods safe and improving
infrastructure.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Questions from the Floor—Mayor Aguilar offered the audience an opportunity to
ask any questions they might have. Subjects addressed included the amount of
cash reserves held by the City of Redlands; priorities used for street, water and
gas infrastructure repairs; resident opportunity for involvement in the budget
derivation process; and the bike lane program.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 1:12 P.M. The Council
will meet next at a special goal-setting workshop meeting scheduled at 8:00 A.M., June
28, 2013.
