AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORVIAP AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 07, AEOPTEED

BOARDS) AFD SIGNS, PROVIDING POR PERMITS AND INSPECTION AVV FIXING FEES THSREFORE,
PROUDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH."
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
SECTION ONE: DEFINITIONS, For the purpose of this Ordinance a Subdivision is five
(5) or more lots or parcels recorded for sale,
SECTION TWO: A new Section is hereby added to Part One of said Ordinance No. 8870
to be known as Section 110 which reads as follows:
SOCTION 11. SUBDIVISION SIGNS. Signs erected for the purpose of sale of land or
dmallings on subdivisions may not exceed 6 total of one hundred (100) square feet,
provided hoonver that no sign shall have a horizontal length of over eight (a) feet
and a vertical height of over five (5) feet, and such signs shall not have more than
three (3) feet of clearance between the lower part of the sign and the ;round and no
sign shall be attachedto or suspended from any other sign, and said signs shall be
located only on land to which the sign refers. All signs referring to land or dwell-
ing sale on subdivisions shall be removed ninety (90) days after the last dwelling
has recti!-nd a final inspection by the Inspection Department of the City of Redlands
or aft. :, 11 duelling construction bas been discontinued for a period of ninety (90)
days. "o dumlling, office or sign shall be erected solel. for the purpose of sale
of land or dwelling in a subdivision more than thirty (30 days before actual construe-
tion is commenced on dwelling or dwellings in the subdivision, Any signs erected on
the lot, or attached to said dwelling or office may have a total of fifty (50) square
feet. The use of decorative flags, emblems, banners, brat oar other similar devices
shall not be erected, constructed or maintained in any sukiiision. It shall be un-
lawful to use such words as "stop". "look"."danger" or any other word, phrase, syuhol -.
or character on any sign or signs in such a manner as to interfere with, mislead or
confuse triffic. No sign shall be located within twenty-five (25) feet of a corner
property intersection of tmn streets, and it is further provided that the sign shall
not be located closer than ten (10) feet from the front line of the property. Any
installation of electric lights used to illuminate any sign, dwelling or office in
any subdivision shall concentrate the illumination upon the area of the sign, dwell-
ing or office and prevent glare upon the street or adjacent property. Each electrical
installation shall be subject to approval by the Electrical Inspector before a permit
is issued by the Inspection Department.
SECTION THREE: That all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
SECTION FOURt This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law,
SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and
shall csuae the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a daily news-
paper hereby designated for that purpose.
