HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2802_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2802 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 12.56 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 12.56 of the Redlands Municipal Code, entitled"Municipal Airport," is hereby amended to read as follows: "Chapter 12.56 Municipal Airport 12.56.300: PARKING FOR AIRPORT TENANTS: Airport tenants shall park aircraft owned by them, in their use, or in their custody, only on approved parking areas leased by them. All visitors, aircraft owners, and employees utilizing the terminal area of the airport must park in designated parking spaces only. No motor driven vehicle shall be left unattended in any area designated as a taxiway between hanger rows. 12.56.320: VEHICLES; OPERATION ALLOWED WHERE: Unless authorized in writing by the Director of the Quality of Life Department, or his or her designee, no motor driven vehicles shall be operated on the airport, except on roadways,in vehicle parking areas, or in places that are designated for such vehicles. Motor driven vehicles operated on the airport shall be appropriately licensed and shall comply with the insurance requirements imposed by the State of California for the operation of motor driven vehicles on the public street. Any operator of a motor driven vehicle on the airport, if requested by the Director of the Quality of Life Department, or his or her designee, shall furnish evidence of compliance with State of California insurance requirements. 12.56.330: VEHICLES;NEGLIGENT OPERATION PROHIBITED: No person shall operate any vehicle on the airport in a careless or negligent manner,in disregard for the safety of others, or in excess of posted speed traffic signs, and in no event in excess of twenty five(25)miles per hour. On ramps and around or near building areas,the maximum speed shall not exceed ten(10)miles per hour. 1 lAcclerMOrdinances\Nos 2800-2899 in Word\2802 Redlands Municipal Airport.doc 12.56.340: VEHICLES; YIELD OF RIGHT OF WAY TO AIRCRAFT: All pedestrians and vehicles shall always yield the right of way to aircraft on the ground or in the process of landing or taking off. 12.56.350: VEHICLES; ACCIDENT REPORT: Any accident involving motor driven vehicles on the airport shall be reported immediately to the Director of the Quality of Life Department,or his or her designee. In the event the Director of the Quality of Life Department, or his or her designee, is not available,the Redlands Police Department shall be notified. 12.56.360:VEHICLES; PARKING: Vehicles on the airport shall only be parked in areas so designated for such purpose. Fuel and service vehicles owned and operated by fixed base operators may be parked in their leased areas. Aircraft owners who rent hangar space from a fixed base operator may be permitted to park vehicles within that hangar space. 12.56.370:VEHICLES BEARING FLAMMABLE MATERIALS: Fuel tank trucks, service vehicles, automotive or aircraft gas tenders, and trucks delivering flammable materials are prohibited from entry,parking or storage in hangars. 12.56.380:VEHICLES; ILLEGAL PARKING: Illegally parked vehicles, may be issued parking violation citations or moved by towing to designated tow yards. A charge for such towing will be levied and the City shall not assume any towing charges or liability for damage while moving such vehicles. 12.56.440: AIRPORT ULTIMATE AUTHORITY: In cases where disagreement arises regarding the interpretation of this chapter,the Director of the Quality of Life Department, or his or her designee, shall have the final decision authority. .......... ,, Section 2. The City Council hereby determines that the adoption of this Ordinance is 2 lAccIerMOrdinancesWos 2800-2899 in Word12802 Redlands Municipal Airport.doc exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act("CEQA") pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3). Section 3.
