AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "ANNEXATION NO, 14- TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDSg
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of Juneg 1963, the City Council of the City of
Redlands did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2270 giving notice of the proposal to annex
certain uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, said territory being therein
designated as "Annexation No. 14", said resolution describing the boundaries of the
territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 2270 did contain a notice of the days hour and
place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person
owning property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing
being not less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said
Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of August, 1963, at the hour of 7900 P.M. in the Council
Chambers in the Safety Hall of the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardinog State of
California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution
No. 2270 for hearing of protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear
and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that pro-
tests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed
to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said 'Legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory, being contiguous to the City of Redlands, is uninhabited
territory in the County of San Bernardino; and the County Boundary Commission of San
Bernardino County did, in session duly assembled on March 12, 19638 approve the proposed
annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No. 14", as described and as submitted to said
Commission by this City Council.
NOW THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby approve the
annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Redlandsq and does

hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of
Redlands.
That said territory) the annexation of which to the City of Redlands is herein
approved, is all that territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
- Annexation No. 14 -�
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of Mill Streetp a street of 8205
foot width, and the easterly line of California Street, a street of 8205 foot width, as
shown on Record of Survey recorded in Book 17, Page 41, records of said County; thence
northerly along the prolongation of the easterly line of California Street to the center-
line of Mill Street; thence westerly along the centerline of M111 Street and the westerly
.prolongation of said centerline to a point 200 feet, measured at right angles, westerly of
the west line of said California Street; thence southerly parallel with the west line of
California Street to the northerly line of Lot 70 Orange Grove Homestead, as recorded in
Book 2 of Maps, Page 5 thereof, records of said County; thence westerly along the northerly
lines of Lots 70, 699 689 670 649 659 66 and 549 Orange Grove Homestead to the northwesterly
corner of said Lot 549 thence southerly along the westerly lines of Lots 54, 47 and 349
Orange Grave Homestead, and prolongation: thereof to the centerline of 76087 focy wide San
Bernardino Avenue; thence westerly along the centerline of San. Bernardino Avenue to its
intersection with the centerline of 8205 foot wide Mountain View Avenue, formerly Sterling
Avenue; thence southerly along the centerline of Mountain View Avenue to an intersection
with the centerline of Colton Avenue, formerly State route No. 269 a street of 8205 foot
width as shown on the Map of Rancho San Bernardino recorded in Book of Maps 7 Page 2,
records of said County; thence easterly along the centerline of Colton Avenue to a point
200 feet, measured at right angles, easterly of the east line of Mountain View Avenue,-
thence
venue;thence northerly parallel with the east line of Mountain View Avenue to an intersection
with the northerly line of the 100 foot wide Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway Company
right-of-way; thence southeasterly along the northerly line of said right-of-way; to the
centerline of 70 foot wide Lugonia Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of Lugonia
Avenue to an intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 79
Orange Grove Homestead; thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 7 and the pro-
longation thereof to the north line of the south one-half of said Lot 7; thence easterly
parallel with the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to the easterly line of said Lot 7; thence
southerly along the easterly line of Lot 7, Orange Grove Homestead, and the prolongation
thereof to the centerline of Lugonia Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of
Lugonia Avenue to an intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly lane of
Lot 5, Orange Grove Homestead; thence northerly along said westerly line of Lot 5 and the
prolongation thereof to the centerline of 60 foot wide Hugo Street; thence easterly along
said centerline to an intersection with the prolongation, of the easterly line of Lot 5,
Orange Grove Homestead' thence southerly along said easterly line and the prolongation
thereof to the centerline of Lugonia Avenues thence easterly along the centerline of
Lugonia Avenue to an intersection with the centerline of California Street; thence north-
erly along the centerline of California Street to an intersection with the easterly prolon-
gation of the northerly line of Lot 709 Orange Grove Homesteads thence easterly along the
prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 70, Orange Grove Homestead to the easterly line
of California Street; thence northerly along said easterly line to the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause
same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated
for that purpose.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after Its passage as
provided by law,
