AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION
DISTRICT NO, 31" TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ;
WHEREAS , on the 5th day of December, 1967 , the City Council of the
City of Redlands did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2642, giving notice
of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of
Redlands, said territory being therein designated as "Annexation No.
31, " said resolution describing the boundaries of the territory pro-
posed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS , said Resolution No. 2642 did contain a notice of the day,
hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear pro-
tests made by any person owning property within the territory proposed
to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than twenty nor
more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS , on the 16th day of January, 1968, at the hour of 7: 00
P.M. , in the Council Chambers in the Safety Building of the City of
Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 2642
for hearing of protests to the said annexation, the said City Council
did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation
and did resolve and determine that protests had not been made by the
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and pri-
vate owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be
annexed as determined by said legislative body,- and
WHEREAS , said territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Bernardino;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Redlands
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Redlands, and does hereby further ordain that
the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Redlands.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Redlands is herein approved, is all that territory situated in the
County of San Bernardino, State of California, more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
ANNEXATION NO. 31
All that portion of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, portion Block 70
of Rancho San Bernardino in the County of San Bernardino as recorded
in Book 7 of Maps and portion of Lots 51, 52, 53 and 54 of orange
Grove Homestead as the said orange Grove Homestead is shown on map
recorded in Book 2 of Maps, Page 5 thereof, records of San Bernardino
County, State of California, and more particularly described as fol-
lows:
Beginning at a point in the present corporate limits of the City
of Redlands, said point being at the intersection of a line 200 feet
westerly and parallel to the westerly line of 82 . 5 feet wide California
Street and the centerline of 82. 5 feet wide Mill Street (vacated) ,
thence southerly along the said line 200 feet westerly and parallel to
the west line of California Street with its intersection of the north
line of Lot 70, of the Orange Grove Homestead, thence westerly along
the north line of Lots 70, 69, 68, 67, 65, 66 and 54 of said Orange
Grove Homestead, thence southerly along the west line of Lot 54 to
its intersection with the north line of Tract 5158 as the said Tract
is shown in Book 61 of Maps, Pages 20 and 21 thereof, records of San
Bernardino County; thence along the north line of the said tract to
its intersection with the centerline of Mt. View Avenue, thence nor-
therly along the centermine of Mt. View Avenue to its intersection
with the southerly corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino,
thence northeasterly along the said limits to the centerline of Mill
Street vacated, thence along the centerline of Mill Street vacated to
the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom all that portion lying northerly of the fol-
lowing described line:
Commencing at centerline intersection of San Bernardino Avenue
and Mt. View Avenue, thence north 00 33 ' 26" ease 2810. 73 feet along
the centerline of Mt. View Avenue to the point of beginning of a line
to be described:
Said point being on a curve concave northwesterly having a radius
of 2380 . 33 feet, the tangent to the said curve at that point bears
north 630 44 ' 17" east; thence from the saidobeginning of a line along
the said curve through a central angle of 12 37 ' 37" an arc distance
of 524. 58 feet to a line bearing north 510 06 ' 40" east, thence along
the said line to its intersection with the centerline of Mill Street
vacated and the terminus of a line described.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance,
and shall cause same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts,
the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its
passage as provided by law.
