HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1376_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1376 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TER- RITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 36" AND APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 37" TO THE CITY" OF REDLANDS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY" COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS* WHEREAS , on the 6th day of August, 1968, the City Council of the City of Redlands did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2698 and Resolution No. 2699 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, said territories being therein designated as "Annexation No_ 36" , and "Annexation No . 37" , said resolutions describing the boundaries of the terri- tory to be annexed; and WHEREAS , said Resolution No, 2698 and Resolution No 2699 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person owning property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the date of the passage of said Resolutions; and WHEREAS , on the 3rd day of September, 1968, at the hour of 7 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the Safety Building of the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 2698 and Resolution No. 2699 for hearing protests to the said annexations, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexations and did resolve and determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body, and WHEREAS , said territories are contiguous to the City of Redlands, and are uninhabited territories in the County of San Bernardino; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby approve the annexation of the territories hereinafter described to the City of Redlands , and does hereby further ordain that the said territories be and are hereby annexed to the City of Redlands, That said territories, the annexation of which to the City of Redlands is herein approved, are all that territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, more parti- cularly described as follows: ANNEXATION NO. 36 All that portion of Lot 5, portion of Orange Grove Homestead, and portion of Lugonia Avenue as recorded in Book 2 of Maps , Page: 5 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Lugonia Avenue, 70 feet wide, and the southerly prolonga- tion of the west line of Lot 5; thence northerly along the said west line to its intersection with the souther- ly right--of-way line of 60 foot wide Hugo Street . Thence easterly along the southerly line of Hugo Street to its intersection with the east line of Lot 5. Thence souther- ly along the east line of Lot 5 and southerly prolongation thereof to its intersection with the centerline of Lugonia Avenue. Thence westerly along the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to the Point of Beginning. ANNEXATION NO. 37 All that portion of Lot 7 and portion of Orange Grove Homestead and portion of Lugonia Avenue as recorded in Book 2 of Maps, Page 5 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Lugonia Avenue, 70 feet wide, with the southerly prolonga- tion of the westerly line of said Lot 7 ; thence northerly along the said westerly line to its intersection with the north line of the south one--half of said Lot 7; thence easterly along the said northerly line to its intersection with the easterly line of Lot 7; thence southerly along said easterly line and the southerly prolongation thereof to its intersection with the centerline of Lugonia Avenue; thence westerly along the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to the Point of Beginning. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordin- ance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Red- lands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that pur- pose.
