AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TER-
RITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 45" TO THE CITY OF
REDLANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS:
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of August, 1971, the City Council of
the City of Redlands did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2849 giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to
the City of Redlands, said territory being therein designated as
"Annexation No. 45" , said resolution describing the boundary of the
territory to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 2849 did contain a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would
hear protests made by any person owning property within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not
less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the date of the pass-
age of said resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of September, 1971, at the hour of
7 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the Safety Building of the
City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California,
said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said
Resolution No. 2849 for hearing protests to the said annexation,
the said City Council dial hear and pass upon all protests made to
the proposed annexation and did resolve and determine that protests
had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the
territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized
assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one--half of
the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Bernardino;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Redlands
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Redlands, does hereby further ordain that the
said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Redlands,
and in compliance with the LAFC resolution of approval, the terri-
tory is detached from CSA 38 and CSA 70, without split of assets or
liabilities;
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Redlands is herein approved, is all that territory situated in the
County of San Bernardino, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
ANNEXATION NO. 45
All of Block 23 of a portion of the Barton Ranch as per
map recorded in Book 6, Page 19, in the office of the County
Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California, and
a portion of Lot 3 and Lots 4 and 5 in Block 27 of a portion
of West Redlands per map recorded in Book 9, Page 22 in the
office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino,
State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the centerline intersection of Kansas
Street, 80 feet wide, and Orange Avenue, 50 feet wide; thence
easterly along the centerline of Orange Avenue to the center-
line of Tennessee Street, 80 feet wide; thence southerly along
the centerline of Tennessee Street and the centerline of
Tennessee Street produced to the north line of Section 33,
TlS, R3W, S .B.B.M. 7 thence easterly along the north line of
said Section 33 to the north 1/4 corner of said Section 33 .
Thence southerly along the east line of the northwest 1/4 of
said Section 33 to the centerline of Brookside Avenue, 100
feet wide; thence southwesterly along the centerline of
Brookside Avenue to the centerline of Barton Road, 80 feet
wide; thence westerly along the centerline of Barton Road to
its intersection with the prolongation of the centerline of
Kansas Street; thence northerly along the prolongation of
the centerline of Kansas Street and the centerline of Kansas
Street to the Point of Beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily
Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its
passage as provided by law.

City of Redlands, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day
of October, 1971, by the following roll call vote:
