HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1588_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO . 1588 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 51" TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS : WHEREAS , on the 6th day of July, 1976, the City Council of the City of Redlands did pass and adopt Resolution No. 3269 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, said territory being therein designated as "Annexation No. 51, " said resolution describing the boundary of the territory to be annexed; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3269 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear pro- tests made by any person owning property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the date of the passing of said resolution; and WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of August, 1976, at the hour of 7 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the Safety Building of the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 3269 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did resolve and determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private own- ers of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands, and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Bernardino; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Redlands, does hereby further ordain that the said ter- ritory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Redlands, and in com- pliance with the LAFC resolution of approval, the territory is detached from CSA #38, Improvement Zone G of CSA #38, CSA #70, and Improvement Zone A of CSA #70, without split of assets or liabilities ; That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Redlands is herein approved, is all that territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, more particularly described as follows : ANNEXATION NO. 51 That portion of the Northwest 1/4 of Block 19 of Barton Ranch as recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page 19, in the office of the County Record- er, County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows : Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Colton Avenue with the centerline of Alabama Street; thence S 1°00 ' 10" E along said cen- terline of Alabama Street, 301.20 feet to a point on the city of Redlands boundary line, said point also being the True Point of Begin- ning; thence N 89035 ' 20" E along the city of Redlands boundary line to the southwesterly corner of that real property as recorded on November 3, 1971, in Book 7788 of Deeds, .Page 105, in the office of the recorder of said County; thence S 79012 '45" E along the city of Redlands bound- ary line and its prolongation thereof, 279.88 feet; thence S 1000 ' 10" E 306 feet more or less to the South line of the North 1/2 of said Block 19; thence Westerly along last said line to its intersection with said centerline of Alabama Street, last said centerline of Alabama Street also being the city of Redlands boundary line; thence Northerly along last said line to the True Point of Beginning. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
