The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
5getign- 1. Chapter 3.74 is hereby added to the Redlands Municipal Code to read as
follows:

174.010. Informal Bid Procedures
All public projects undertaken by the City, as defined by the Uniform Public Construction
Cost Accounting Act, which have a value greater than twenty-five thousand dollars and less than
seventN;-five thousand dollars ($75.000) shall be let to contract by the informal procedures set forth
in Section _22032 et LtZ . of the Public Contract Code and the provisions of this Chapter.
3.74.020. Contractors List
A list of qualified contractors shall he developed and maintained by those City- departments
undertaking public projects in accordance with the provisions of Section 22034 of the Public
Contract Code and any applicable criteria promulgated, from time to time.by the California Uniform

3,74.030. Notice Inviting Info al Bids,
When a public project is to be undertaken kvhich is subject to the provisions of this Chapter,
a notice invitme informal, bids shall be mailed to all contractors for the category of work to be bid,
as shown on the City's list of qualified contractors developed in accordance with Section 3,74,020
and to all construction trade Joumals as specified by the California Uniform Construction Cost

Accountinp-Commission in accordance with Section 22036 of the Public Contract Code. Additional
contractors and./or construction trade journals may be notified at the discretion of the City
department responsible for undertaking the public prqject and soliciting bids: provided, however:
A. If there is no list of qualified contractors maintained by the City for the particular
catcL,ory of work to he perfornied, the notice ins:itinp bids for the public project shall
be sent onl-N- to the construction trade lournals specified b-,- the Commission,
B. If the product or seri ice comprising the public pro-Ject is proprietary in nature such
that it may be obtained only from a certain contractor or contractors, the notice
invitiniz, informal bids for the public project may be sent exclusively to such
contractor or contractors.
Section 2. The Mayor shall, sign this ordinance and-1 the City Clerk- shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a suinmary of it, to be published once in the
Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City and thereafter this
ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
