HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1692_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1692 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS PROHIBITING NUISANCE GLARE FROM BUILDINGS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION ONE: SHORT TITLE: This ordinance shall be known as the BUILDING ANTI-GLARE ORDINANCE. SECTION TWO : PURPOSE: The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby finds that it is necessary to govern reflective surfaces of buildings to prevent the structure from imposing unwanted, dangerous, and nuisance glare reflection upon adjacent street right-of-ways and upon neighboring properties. SECTION THREE: REFLECTIVE PROPERTIES OF BUILDINGS : All building surfaces shall be composed of materials which reflect light in a dif- fused manner so that the surface reflection appears to be of generally uniform intensity from all directions with no concentration of reflected light imposed upon any adjacent properties or right-of-ways. For the purpose of this ordinance, a building surface includes all portions of the building envelope visible from street right-of-way or adjacent pro- perties, including windows (untinted, transparent glass excepted) , roofs, signs, architectural projections, or any other item attached to or supported by the structure. SECTION FOUR: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law.
