357 Redlands City Sewer Bonds, 1931.
Twenty-four cents ($.24) for Redemption and Interest of Municipal Water Bonds:
Twenty-seven.cents .and' five mills, (1$,275) for Redemption and Interest of Redlands City
Water Bonds, 1926,
Section Two: There is' hereby.levied upon all taxable property in that portion of
the City of Redlands commonly called the Terracina Annex part or portion thereof, for the
said fiscal year, a property tax of One Dollar, Thirty.-six Cents, Two and one-half Mills
($1.3625) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation of such property, j
apportioned as follows:
Seventy-six cents ($06) for the General Fund:
Twenty-three cents ($,23) for the Library Fund:
Three cents ($.03) for the Capital Outlay Fund:
Six cents, seven and one-half mills (0.0675) for Redemption and Interest of Redlands
City Sewer Bonds, 1931. F
Twenty-seven cents and five mills, ($.275) for Redemption and Interest of Redlands
City Water Bonds, 1926.
Section Three: It is hereby found and .determined and declared that this Ordinance
is urgently required for the peace, health and safety in that it is necessary to levy a
valid tax for the purpose aforesaid, and without which ordinance and tax there will be no
revenue or funds to defray the expenses of said city, and this ordinance will take effect
and be enforced immediately after its passage and approval.
Section Four: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts,

CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF REDIANDS ANIS THE BOARD OF ADIbI1NISTRATION, CALIFORNIA.

The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
Section 1. ' That a contract is hereby authorized between the City Council of City
of Redlands and the Board of Administration, California State Employees} Retirement System}
a copy of said contract being attached hereto marked exhibit "A'T, and by such reference
made a part hereof as though herein set out in full. i
Section 2. The mayor of the City of Redlands is -hereby authorized, empowered, and
directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of said Subdivision.
Section. 3, This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption,
and prior to the expiration of 10 days from the passage thereof shall be published at least
once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general, circulation, published and circulated
in the City of Redlands, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.

The City Coiincil of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, whether as principal or agent,
clerk, or employee, eith for himself or for any other person, or for any body corporate,
or as an officer of any corporation, or otherwise to commence or carry on any lawful business,
trade, calling, profession or occupation in the City of Redlands without first having
procured a license from said City so to do or without complying ;with any and all regulations
of such trade, calling, profession or occupation contained in this ordinance. All licenses
in this ordinance specified are payable semi-annually on the 1st of 3anuary and lst of ruly
unless otherwise provided. The carrying on of any business, trade, calling, )rofession or
occupation as aforesaid without complying with any and all regulations of such business, trade,
calling, profession or occupation contained in this ordinance shall be deemed a separate
violation of this ordinance for each and every day that such business, trade, calling,
profession or occupation is carried on.
Section 2. The amount of any license imposed by this ordinance shall be deemed a
debt to .the City of Redlands and any person, firm, or corporation carrying on any trade,
calling, profession or occupation mentioned in this ordinance without having a license from
said City so to do, shall be liable to an action in the name of said City in any court of
competent jurisdiction, for the amount of license by this ordinance imposed on such trade, call-
ing, profession, or occupation,
All persons, firms or corporations must pay the license, license tax, fee or money to
the proper officer and take out a license without any tender of such license or demand for the
license tax or fee or money.
The City Attorney or the License Collector of the City of Redlands, on behalf of the
City of Redlands, may make the necessary affidavit for legal action, and a writ of attachment
may issue without any undertaking or bond given on behalf of the plaintiff; and in case of
recovery by the plaintiff, twenty-fi.ve ;(25.00) dollars damages must be added to the judgement
as costs to be collected from the defendant or defendants.
Section 3. The conviction and punisbment of any person for transacting any business
without the required license, shall not excuse or exempt such person frcm the payment of such
license fee due or unpaid at the time of such conviction, and nothing herein shall prevent a
criminal prosecution for any violation of the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 4, All licenses shall be paid in advance in the legal currency of the United
States at the office of the City Treasurer.
A separate license must be obtained for each branch establishment or separate place
of business, in which the trade, calling, profession or occupation is carried on, and each
license shall authorize the party obtaining it to carry on, pursue or conduct only that trade,
calling, profession or occupation described in such license, and only at the location or place
of business which is indicated thereby, provided, further, that where a license is herein
imposed upon any business, profession, trade or occupation, and the number of persons employed
or the annual gross receipts of such business is made the basis for fixing the amount of such
license, a separate tax shall be paid for each branch establishment or place of business in
which the trade, calling, or occupation is carried on, based upon the number of persons
employed in or on the annual gross receipts of each branch establishment or separate place
of business.
