HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1903_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1903 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1304 AND RESOLUTION NO. 2574 WHEREAS, in 1985 the State Legislature revised the salary structure for general law Members of the City Council for the first time since 1965; and WHEREAS , it is in the best interests of the City that the Redlands Ordinance Code be amended to reflect this change in State law; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Article 113 of the Redlands Ordinance Code is hereby amended as follows: "ARTICLE 113 COMPENSATION §11301. Members of the City Council shall be com- pensated according to the following schedule: 1. When the population of Redlands is up to and including 35, 000 in population, three hundred dollars ($300) per month; 2. When the population of Redlands is over 35, 000 up to and including 50, 000 in population, four hundred dollars ($400) per month; 3. When the population of Redlands is over 50, 000 up to and including 75, 000 in population, five hundred dollars ($500) per month; 4 . When the population of Redlands is over 75, 000 up to and including 150, 000 in population, six hundred dollars ($600) per month. §11302. For the purposes of this Article, the population of the City of Redlands shall be determined either by the last preceding federal census, or by any subsequent census, or by an estimate validated by the State of California Department of Finance. " SECTION 2 . Ordinance No. 1304 and Resolution No. 2874 are hereby repealed. SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided b law. SECTION 4 . The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this city .
