AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 2.66
OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE HUMAN
RELATIONS COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.66.020 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to Membership is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"The Commission shall consist of nine members who shall each, with the exception of the
student member,serve for a four-year staggered term and until his or her successor is appointed and
qualified. No person shall serve more than two consecutive terms. Vacancies on the Commission
shall be filled in the same manner as the Commissioners are appointed;provided,however,that the
term of a Commissioner appointed to fill a vacancy shall be for a four-year period. Each
Councilmember shall appoint one member of the Commission with the remaining four members
being appointed by the City Council. The Commission members shall be residents of the City of
Redlands and neither officers nor employees thereof. One Commission member appointed by the
City Council shall be from the junior class of a Redlands high school. The student member's term
shall be for one year, beginning January 1 st when the student is a junior and ending December 31st
when the student is a senior. The student member shall be considered one of the nine members of
the Commission with full voting powers. The members of the Commission shall serve without
compensation."
Section 2. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in the
Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City and thereafter, this
ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.

ordinance was duly adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day
of May, 1999, by the following vote:
