AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING THE REDLANDS
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO PARKS, RECREATION, AND TRAFFIC
COMMISSIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Section 2 .32 .020 is hereby amended to
read:
2 .32 .020 MEMBERS - APPOINTMENT
The Parks Commission shall consist of nine
members. Eight members shall be appointed by the
Mayor with the approval of the City Council from
City residents at large who are not City
officials for staggered terms of five years . No
person shall serve more than two terms as a
member of the Commission. Any vacancy created
other than by expiration of term shall be filled
by appointment by the Council for the unexpired
portion of the term.
The Council shall also appoint one student
member from the junior class of the Redlands
Unified School District for a term of one year,
beginning January 1 and ending December 31 when
the student is a senior , as a full voting member
of the Commission.
The members of the Commission shall serve
without compensation. Five members of the
Commission shall constitute a quorum. "
SECTION 2. Section 2 .32 .040 is hereby amended to
read:
2 .32 .040 ORGANIZATION
The Commissioners shall , upon their
appointment, organize and elect a chairman for
the term of one year , and such other officers as
the Commissioners may deem advisable, and shall
make such rules and regulations as are necessary
to fulfill the obligations and duties of the
Commission.
The Community Services Director shall be an
ex-officio advisory member of the Parks
Commission and shall attend all meetings of the
Commission. "
SECTION 3 . Section 2 .32 .050 is hereby amended to
read;
2 .32 .050 DUTIES
The Commission shall recommend to the
Council policies for the acquisition, development
and improvement of parks and for the planting,
care and removal of trees and shrubs in all
parks, parkways, and streets. The Commission
shall have regular meeting dates and shall keep
records of all of its acts and proceedings"
SECTION 4. Section 2. 48.020 is hereby amended to
read;
"2 .40 .020 MEMBERS - APPOINTMENT AND TERM
The Recreation Advisory Commission shall
consist of nine members. Eight members shall be
appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the
City Council from City residents at large who are
not City officials for staggered terms of three
years. Terms of office shall coincide with the
fiscal year of the City. No person shall serve
more than two terms as a member of the
Commission. Any vacancy created other than be
expiration of term shall be filled by appointment
by the Council for the unexpired portion of the
term.
The Council shall also appoint one student
member from the junior class of the Redlands
Unified School District for a term of one year,
beginning January 1 and ending December 31 when
the student is a senior, as a full voting member
of the Commission.

read:

The Traffic Commission shall consist of
seven members. Six members shall be appointed by
the Mayor with the approval of the City Council
from City residents at large who are not City
officials for staggered terms of four years.
Terms of office shall coincide with the fiscal
year of the City. No person shall serve more
than two terms as a member of the Commission.
Any vacancy created other than by expiration of
term shall be filled by appointment by the
Council for the unexpired portion of the terms.
The Council shall also appoint one student
member from the junior class of the Redlnds
Unified School District for a term of one year,
beginning January 1 and ending December 31 when
the student is a senior, as a full voting member
of the Commission.
The members of the Commission shall serve
without compensation. Four members of the
Commission shall constitute a quorum."
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in force and take
effect as provided by law.
SECTION 7. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and
the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands
Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and
published in this City.
