HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2466_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2466 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 2.32 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE PARKS COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIME CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.32.020 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to the membership of the Parks Commission is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.32.020 Membership. The Parks Commission shall consist of seven members. Six members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. Each member shall serve for a four-year term and until his or her successor is appointed. No person shall serve more than two consecutive terms. Vacancies on the Commission shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council for the unexpired portion of the term. The members of the Commission shall serve without compensation and shall be residents of the City and neither officers nor employees thereof. The Council may remove any member of the Commission at any time,without cause,by a majority vote. Four members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum. The City Council shall also appoint one student member as a full voting member of the Commission from the junior class of the Redlands Unified School District for a term of one year, beginning January 1st and ending December 31st when the student is a senior." Section 2. Section 2.32.040 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to organization of the Parks Commission is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.32.040 Organization. The Commissioners shall,upon their appointment,organize and elect a chairman for the term of one year,and such other officers as the Commissioners may deem advisable,and shall make such rules and regulations as are necessary to fulfill the obligations and duties of the Commission. The Public Works Director,or his or her designee, shall serve as staff liaison of the Parks Commission." 1Adjml0rdl0rd2466FarksComm.wpd Section 3. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper or general circulation within the City, and, thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
