HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2092_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2092 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADDING CHAPTER 2 .51 TO THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH THE TOWN CENTER ADVISORY COMMISSION Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. Chapter 2 .51 is hereby added to the Redlands Municipal Code to read as follows: "Chapter 2 .51 Town Center Advisory Commission 2.51.010 Existence. There is a Town Center Advisory Commission as established by Ordinance No. 2092 of the City to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council . 2.51.020 Membership. The Town Center Advisory Commission shall consist of seven members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council . Two members shall serve a three year term, two members shall serve a two year term, and three members shall serve a one year term, and each member thereafter shall serve for a staggered four year term until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. Vacancies on the commission shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with approval of the City Council from the unexpired portion of the term. The members of the commission shall serve without compensation and shall be a resident of the City and/or a member of Town Center . The Council may remove any member of the commission at any time, without cause, by a majority vote. Four members of the commission shall constitute a quorum. 2.51.030 Organization and Meetings. The commission shall annually elect a chairman, who shall serve for a term of three years, and such officers as the commission may deem advisable. Except as otherwise provided herein, the commission shall provide for its own organization, and shall adopt rules and regulations for the transaction of business before it, and shall designate the time and place for its regular monthly meeting or meetings. 2.51.040 Powers and Duties. The purpose and duty of the commission is to provide advice, assistance and support to the Redevelopment Agency by focusing on the promotion of economic growth, the preservation of historic properties, and the improvement of the downtown City area and other business areas for the benefit of property owners, business tenants, Redlands' residents and visitors. The commission shall keep records of all of its official acts and proceedings and shall make reports to the Redevelopment Agency. " Section 2. This ordinance shall be in force and shall take effect as provided for by law. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City.
