AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING A FILING FEE FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE
OFFICES OF SAID CITY
WHEREAS, there are costs in processing a candidate ' s nomination
paper for an elective office at municipal elections held in the City
of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, Section 22843 of the Elections Code of the State of
California authorizes a City Council to impose a filing fee propor-
tionate to the costs of processing a candidate ' s nomination paper but
not exceeding $25 .00:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. A filing fee of $25.00 is hereby established for
candidate's nomination papers for elective offices at municipal
elections held in the City of. Redlands.
SECTION 2. The filing fee shall be paid to the City Clerk by
each candidate for an elective office at the time the candidate ' s
nomination paper is filed with the City Clerk.
SECTION 3 . The City Clerk shall pay to the City Treasurer all
fees received which shall be deposited in the General Fund.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the Redlands
Daily Facts within fifteen days after its passage and said ordinance
shall become effective thirty days after its final passaged

certify that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by the City
Council at an adjourned regular meeting thereof on the 2nd day of
November, 1973 by the following vote:
AYES : Councilmen Knudsen, Miller, Vice Mayor DeMirjyn
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Sewall, Mayor Cummings
