AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ELECTRICAL CODE ORDINANCE NO. 1.01.0 OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as followsg
SECTION ONE-. That Electrical Code Ordinance No, 1010 of the City of
Redlands shall be amended by adopting Amendment No, 1 to read as follows:
SECTION F.VE,, PARAGRAPH "N", delete the first sentence and in the second
paragraph delete 14 in the .first sentence,
SECTION FINE, add another paragraph to be known as "P"a
1, Single family dwellings. The minimum service requirements shall be
Raceway 12,E trade size
Canductors - 3 No, 1 AWG
Switch - 1.00 Ampere, or
Circuit Breaker 100 Ampere
Provisions shall be made in the branch circuit panel for 1.00 amp,
bussing and space .for a minimum of 20 single pole overcurrent protective
devised in addition to the main switch or circuit breaker,
2. Where provisions for spare circuit protective devises are provided
on the bus in any flush mounted panel, then raceways of sufficient capacity
to permit utilization of such spares or spaces shall be provided to an
accessible location,
.Such accessible Location is defined as follows: Where sufficient
attic space is available or underfloor space is available, raceways shall
terminate conveniently for future use in each space, Where neither space is
available, then such termination shall be approved by the Electrical Safety
Engineer.
3, Duplex Dwelling, The combined minimum. service requirements shall
be-
Raceway - 1"trade size
Conductors - No, 1 AWG
Switches ® 60 ampere or
Circuit Breaker m 50 ampere for each unit
Service entrance conductors shall have a current carrying capacity
sufficient to carry the load.
4 - Mhltifamiiy Dwelling, The minimum service requirements for
combined unit occupancy load shall be:
Raceway - 12111 trade size
Conductors - 3 No. 1 AWG
The minimum feeder or sub-feeder for each individual occupancy
shall be.
Raceway - 3/4" trade size
Conductors - 3 No. 8 AWG
Switches - 60 ampere, fused at 40 amps.

Circuit Breaker - 40 ampere
5. Service entrance conductors shall have a current carrying
capacity sufficient to carry the load and in no case smaller than No. 8 AWG
Branch circuit protective devices shall be located inside and for each multi-
family occupancy with kitchen facilities for cooking.
6. Services for Poles, Water Pumps and Occupancies of less than
100 sq. feet.
The minimum size for service raceways shall be not less in size
than that required for the conductors installed therein and in no case
smaller than 3/4 inch trade size and No. 8 AWG conductors.
SECTION TWO-. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect
as provided by law.
SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily
Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this City.
