HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2137_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2137 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2125 RELATING TO WATER AND SEWER SERVICE FUND FEES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands ("this City Council") recently adopted Ordinance No. 21.25 to establish the City ' s 1990-91 water and sewer service fund fees; and WHEREAS, representatives of the Redlands Unified School District have notified this City Council that as a result of current budgeting restraints, the immediate implementation of the City' s 1990-91 water fees would have a significant adverse fiscal effect upon the District; and WHEREAS, the City and the Redlands Unified School District have a long history of working together in a cooperative fashion to serve the best interests of the citizens of Redlands; and WHEREAS, this City Council has determined that certain adjustments can be made to the City' s 1990-91 water fees which would alleviate to a great extent the fiscal impact upon the District as a result of the City' s implementation of its new fees; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . Notwithstanding the rates and charges established by City of Redlands Ordinance No. 2125, the City of Redlands hereby establishes a temporary "tax supported educational institutions water commodity charge" which shall apply solely to DJM17341 - 1 - the Redlands Unified School District. This temporary commodity charge shall be at an inside city rate of $0. 58 per 100 cubic feet and at an outside city rate of $0. 87 per 100 cubic feet. Section 2 . The temporary commodity charge established by this ordinance shall be in effect until July 1, 1991, at which time such charge shall terminate and all inside City and outside City water used by the Redlands Unified School District shall be charged pursuant to the rates established by Ordinance No. 2125 or at the City' s then existing rates. Section 3 . It is the intent of the City Council that the reduced rates established by this ordinance be temporary in nature, and that this ordinance shall not be codified into the Redlands Municipal Code. Section 4 .
