HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1530_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1530 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1471 AND CHAPTER 42 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE AND ADOPTING THE 1973 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE. That Article 420 of Chapter 42 of the Redlands Ordinance Code and Ordinance No. 1471 be amended to read as fol- lows : R SAFETY FIRE CODE CHAPTER 42 CHAPTER 42 Article 420. Adoption 1973 Uniform Fire Code 421 . Establishment and Duties of the Division (Bureau) of Fire Prevention 422 . Limitation of Storage of Flammable and Explosive Materials 423 . Appeals and Penalties 424. Establishment of Fire Zones Article 420 Adoption of the 1973 Uniform Fire Code § 42001. The herein designated Uniform Fire Code, 1973 Edition, and Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, Appen- dix D and Appendix E thereto, and errata sheets forthcoming, providing regulations consistent with nationally recognized standard Practice, to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare to a reasonable degree from the haxards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, use and handling of dangerous and hazardous materials, substances and devices, the operation, installation, construction, location, safeguarding and maintenance of attendant equipment, and the installation and maintenance of adequate means of egress not provided for by the Building Code, are adopted by reference and made a part hereof. Three copies of said code and said appendixes have been certified as true copies and filed in the office of the City Clerk. The code and appendixes so adopted by reference are made a part of this ordinance as though set forth at length herein. (1530) Article 421 Establishment and Duties of the Division (Bureau) of Fire Prevention § 4'1100 , The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the Division of Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of the City of Redlands, California, which is hereby established and which shall be operated under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department. (1471) § 42101 . The Chief of the Division of Fire Prevention shall be appointed by the Chief of the Fire Department pursuant to the provisions of the Personnel Merit System of the City. (1471) § 42102 . The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. (1471) 2/19/74 m _ SECTION TWO. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION THREE. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub- lished in the City of Redlands .
