AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1218 ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE CREATING- AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES
IN THE CITY OF REDLANDS . "
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION ONE: That the Ordinance for Fire Zones for the City of
Redlands is hereby amended by rewording (b) Fire Zone Two (2) :
(b) Fire Zone Two (2) : Fire Zone Two (2) shall include all
commercial districts as shown on the City of Redlands Zoning Map and
defined in Zoning Ordinance No . 1000 including the C--1 , C-2 and A-P
Districts and any A, B, C , D or F occupancies as described in the Uni-
form Building Code regardless of zone classification. .
Fire Zone #2 shall include all said uses referred to in
the paragraph above , located in any structure that is in existence at
the time an area is annexed to the City of Redlands . Such uses which
do not meet Fire Zone #2 Code immediately subsequent to annexation of
the area in which located may, at the discretion of the Building and
Safety Superintendent , be ,granted a conditional occupancy permit as a
prerequisite for a Business License . The conditional occupancy permit
so issued will be for a reasonable period of time , consistent with con-
dition `of the structure to be corrected, not to exceed a maximum period
of one ( 1 ) year. Any extension of such conditional occupancy permit
will require Council approval.
Exception: Group 1, H and F2 occupancies within the
A-P District consisting of one-story construction and having not less
than five foot ( s ' ) setback from side and rear property lines may have
unprotected openings therein. All buildings two or more stories in
height shall be governed by setback requirements of the Uniform ]Build-
ing Code .
SECTION TWO : Each provision of this ordinance shall be separate
and severable and in the event any specific provision is declared void
or invalid no other section, otherwise legal and valid, shall be
affected thereby.
SECTION THREE : All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall be in force and effect as
provided by law.
SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands
Daily Facts , a daily newspaper designated for that purpose.
