HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1404_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1404 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 20 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION ONE: THAT CHAPTER 20 of the Redlands Ordinance Code is hereby amended by deleting and rescinding Section 2033 and Section 2034 thereof, and adding Section 2031. 1 and Section 2031.2 to provide as follows : BUSINESS GENERAL CHAP . 20 CHAPTER 20 GENERAL Article 203 . Handbills: Samples 204. Turning on of Gas Service Article 203 Handbills: Samples Sec. 2031 . DISTRIBUTION OF SAMPLE MEDICINES, HAND- BILLS , ETC. It shall be unlawful for any person within this City: Sec. 2031. 1 . DISTRIBUTION OF ADVERTISING MEDIA ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY. It is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, or any agent or employee of any person, firm, or corporation to throw into, leave upon, or scatter onto any residential property in the city of Redlands without the consent of the owner thereof or his agent, or the occupant of the private property, any newspaper, handbill, pamphlet, circular, dodger, or any advertising sheet or matter devised or intended to promote any com- mercial or money--making activity. (1404) Sec. 2031 . 2 . DISTRIBUTION OF ADVERTISING MEDIA IN THE PUBLIC WAY. It is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, or any agent or employee of any person, firm, or corporation, to drop, scatter, or cast on or upon any public street or any sidewalk, or to place in or on any vehicle parked in or upon any public way without the con- sent of the owner thereof, any newspaper, handbill, pam- phlet, circular, dodger, or any other advertising sheet or matter devised or intended to promote in whole or in part any commercial or money-making activity; provided that this section shall not be construed as preventing the giving away or sale of any newspaper or written or graphic material to any person willing to acquire same, or the display of newspapers or written or graphic material to promote commercial or money-making activity on racks which prevent their being blown about by the wind. (1404) Sec. 2032 . DISTRIBUTION OF SAMPLE MEDICINES . To distribute any patent medicine, or any medicinal prep- aration or compound, or any medicines, drugs, herbs or sample thereof within this City, except to physicians and druggists . (788: 49: 1) 1/20/70 BUSINESS GENERAL Sec. 2041 Article 204 Turning on of Gas Service Sec. 2041 . UNAUTHORIZED PERSON TURNING ON GAS SERVICE. It is unlawful for any person, firm or cor- poration, excepting an authorized agent or employee of a person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of furnishing or supplying gas and whose service pipes supply or connect with the particular premises, to turn on or reconnect gas service in or on any premises where and when gas service is not at the time being rendered. (841: 1) Sec. 2042. OPEN OUTLETS . It is further unlawful to turn on or connect gas on or in any premises unless all outlets are properly and securely connected to appliances or capped or plugged with screwed joint fittings . (841: 2) 1/20/70 SECTION TWO. This ordinance shall be in force and effect as provided by law. SECTION THREE. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a daily newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
