HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1758_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1758 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE, CHAPTER 84, UNIFORM CODES, BY REVISION OF ARTICLE 848, MOVING OF BUILDINGS, AND RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 872 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1470 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does ordain as follows: SECTION ONE: That Article 848, Moving of Buildings, of the Redlands Ordinance Code be amended by rewriting the article in its entirety as follows: BUILDING UNIFORM CODE ARTICLE 848 ARTICLE 848 Moving of Buildings § 84800. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to move any building or structure over the public streets or alleys of the City without first obtaining a permit from the Department of Building and. Safety. § 84801. Any person, firm, or corporation (hereinafter called the applicant) applying for such a permit shall file with the Director of Building and Safety an application setting forth the following information: 1. Present location of building proposed to be moved or location of point of entry of building into City. 2. Route proposed to be followed in moving the building. 3 . Location of proposed building site or the location of point of exit from the City. 4 . Date and hours that the building will be on City streets. § 84802. A fee as established by resolution of the City Council shall be paid upon filing the application. The fee is in addition to any other applicable fees or charges required by the City or any other jurisdiction. § 84803. The Director of Public Works shall have the right to inspect all rollers, trucks wheels, dollies , tractors, or other apparatus proposed to be used in the moving operations; and he shall be the sole judge as to the adequacy of such equipment, and may require the use of such apparatus which in his judgement will not cause damage to streets and/or pavements . § 84804 . The Director of Public Works may require the mover to file a cash bond with the City of Redlands as a condition to moving a structure over City streets if, in his opinion, the streets, public utilities, or any other property may be subject to damages resulting from the moving of the structure. The amount of said cash bond bill be in the amount as determined by the Director of Public Works as necessary to pay for the estimated costs of all damages which may result by reason of the moving. Ordinance No. 1758 r_ BUILDING UNIFORM CODE § 84805 § 84805. No permit shall be issued for the moving of any building or structure onto a lot in the City from another location in the City or from a location outside the City without the review and approval of the Planning Com- mission as specified in Section 48 : O0, Ordinance No . 1000 of the City of Redlands. Ordinance No. 1758 P SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Redlands. ` Mayor of tfi6Ci o la,.
