HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1643_CCv0001.pdf f ORDINANCE NO. 1643 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE AND ORDINANCE NO. 991 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That General Provisions of Ordinance 991 - be amended to read as follows : Enforcement Section 0311. VIOLATION: MISDEMEANOR. Except as otherwise provided, any person who violates or willfully fails to comply with any provisions of this Code, or of any local ordinance adopted pursuant to this Code, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 0312. CONTINUING VIOLATION. Each person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day or portion thereof during which any violation of any provision of this Code is committed, continued or permitted by such person, firm or corporation, and shall be punishable therefor as herein provided. Section 0313 . PENALTY. Any person convicted of a misde- meanor under the provisions of this Code (unless otherwise provided herein) shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500. 00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail or in the San Bernardino County Jail for a period of not more than six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 0314. VIOLATION: INFRACTION. Where expressly pro- vided any person who violates or willfully fails to comply with any provisions of this Code or of any local ordinance adopted pur- suant to this Code is guilty of an infraction. Section 0315. PENALTY: INFRACTION. Except as otherwise provided herein, every person convicted of an infraction for a violation of this Code or of any local ordinance adopted pursuant to this Code shall be punished upon a first conviction by a fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50 . 00) and for a second conviction within a period of one year by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100 . 00) and for a third or any subsequent conviction within a period of one year, by a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars ($250 . 00) i Section 0316 . ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE. Whenever a public nuisance is maintained or exists in this City, either under general law or defined to be such under this Code, it shall be the duty of the police of this City, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to summarily abate the same by removal, destruction or abatement of the act or thing constituting such nuisance. SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub- lished in the City of Redlands.
