HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2707_CCv0002.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2707 AN ORDINANCE OF TI if CITY OFREDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 2.58 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE CONSOLIDATION OFT11E CITY'S GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHEREAS, Elections Code sections 1301 and 10403.5 authorize the City Council ofthe City of-Redlands to reschedule its ygeneral 1111-1111cipal election; and WHEREAS, on Febl-Llal-V 19, 2008, the City Council of the City of'Redlands {this "City Council) adopted Ordinance No. 2694 to rCSCI1CdLlIC the(LII[C OftlIC City's general 1111,1111cipal election from the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year commencing with the year 2010; and WHEREAS, on Al-11.11,1st 26, 2008, the San Bernardino County Board Of Supervisors approved the resclIC(II-1111111 Of tile Citygeneral municipal election, and 1-� WHEREAS, this CitVCOLHICII has determined it is appropriate to arricrid Chapter 2.58 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to the consolidation of election to reflect the approved change of the City's general municipal election date; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ,$,cctiori I. Section 2.55.05() of the Redlands Municipal Code entitled "Day of Election Day Designated- is hereby arricrided to read as follows: -2.58.050 Day of Election Designated: The general 1111-1111cipal election shall be held in the City on the same day as the re"Lliar election to select �,Yovcrnin,-,board members of the Redlands Unified School District, which is presently established by the District as the first TLIcsday after the first Monday in Nov=ember of cacti CV01-111-linbered year." Section 2. Section 2.58.080 is hereby deleted in its entirety. Section 3.
