AN URDIEANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS , COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINC)
STATE OF CALIFORNIA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 939 (ORCHARD HEATER
ORDINANCal) 13Y AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
Section ONE. Section 2(b) of said Ordinance No. 939 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
I Section 2(b) . "Orchard Heater" or"heater" means any
article machine , equipment or contrivance ,
adaptable to burning
any kind of fuel which is designed used maintained or capable of

being used for frost protection. Contrivances commonly known as
Wind Machines are not included.
Section TWO. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 939 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
'Section 3. After December 3rd, 1953 , no person shall
construct , place maintain, keep, store, or alter any orchard heater
under , among oV letween the trees in any grove or orchard or in any
place where it may be used or operated for frost protection, or use
or operate any orchard heater without first obtaining a permit to do
so from the City Manager'', of thety Ciof Redlands. Application for
such permits shall be made to said City Manager on forms obtained
from him and shall contain all information called for by such forms.
The City Manager may require the applicant to furnish such additional
information as he may deem necessarybefore passing on any application,.
Permits shall not be transferable.
Section Three: This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after
the date o0its adoption, and shall be published on in the Redlands
Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the City of Redlands , California, and the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this ordinance on said published copy there°f.

I hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was adopted by the
City Council of Redlands, California at a regular meeting thereof
held on the Ad day of November , 1953 , by the following vote:
AYES: Uouncilmen Van Diest, Putnam, Elkins, Anderson and Mayor Folkins
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
