HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1141_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1141 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 6271 THROUGH 6276 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE TO AUTHORIZE MONTHLY PARKING BY THE USE OF STICKERS, AND ADDING SECTION 6234 CONCERNING RESERVED PARKING SPACES, The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows: SECTION ONE: That Division 6, Chapter 62s Article 627 of the Redlands Ordinance Code be amended as followat Article 627 Monthly Parking - Municipal Lots Section 6271. AUTHORIZATION FOR MONTHLY PARKING, The City Treasurer is authorized to offer stickers or other evidence of payment conferring monthly parking privileges on city parking lots at a fee hereinafter specified. Such monthly parking shall be limited to designated spaces or spaces having meters adjusted to record ten (10) hours parking time, The evidence of having paid the fee may be a window sticker or other authorization in any other form approved by the City Attorney and City Treasurer. Section 6272. MONTHLY PARKING PRIVILEGE NOT TRANSFERABLE. The sticker or other evidence of payment issued under this Article shall not be transferable. Possession of a sticker properly displayed shall confer the privilege of using any authorized space available on the lot designated thereon without further cost or penalty, and the city shall not be required to provide a park- ing space upon demand at a time when all monthly spaces are occupied Section 6273, MONTHLY FEE - RESPONSIBILITY. Every person, firm or corporation purchasing monthly parking privileges under the provisions of this Article shall pay a fee of three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50) for each sticker or other approved evidence of payment for each calendar month or fraction thereof. Unless the sticker or other evidence of payment shall be plainly displayed on the vehicle, the parking privilege shall not be given. SECTION TWO: That Division 69 Chapter 62, Article 623 be amended by ad- ding section 6234 as followss Section 6234. RESERVED PARKING SPACES. The purpose and time for which a parking upace may be reserved shall be at the discre- tion of the Chief of Police. The use of a reserved space by any unauthorized person or vehicle shall be a misdemeanor. SECTION THREE, That this ordinance shall take effect and be in. force after its passage as provided by .laws SECTION FOUR: That the City Clerk shall. certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Redlands, `~ a'M yor of e City of Redlands, California.
